Where to go

Located in the heart of Northwestern Wisconsin, in Rice Lake, UW-Eau Claire – Barron County will be a great location to earn an associates degree or prepare for completing a four-year degree at UW-Eau Claire or a different university.

UW-Eau Claire – Barron County is located in the thriving community of Rice Lake an easy one-hour drive from the Chippewa Valley. This city of approximately 10,000 people boasts of its indoor hockey, curling and swimming facilities, shopping mall, national retail stores, and downtown business area.

The Blue Hills recreation area, just east of Rice Lake, is an excellent location for hiking, mountain biking, fishing, snowmobiling and downhill and cross-country skiing. To find out more about our community, visit Rice Lake Online.

Consider using Google Maps to determine the best route from your location. The following are directions to UW-Eau Claire – Barron County using nearby highways.

From the North on US 53
Take U.S. 53 to CTH O, exit CTH O and turn left. Follow CTH O to Pioneer Avenue. Turn left and proceed to South St. Turn left and proceed to College Drive. Turn right and proceed to UW-Eau Claire –Barron County.

From the south on US 53
Take US 53 to CTH O, exit CTH O and turn right. Follow CTH O to Pioneer Ave. Turn left and proceed to South St. Turn left and proceed to College Drive. Turn right and proceed to UW-Eau Claire –Barron County.

From the west on WIS 48
Take WIS 48 to US 53 and turn right on US 53. Follow directions for north (above).

From the northeast on WIS 48
Take WIS 48 to US 53 and turn left on US 53. Follow directions for north (above).

Parking

Visitor Parking

Visitor parking is available in front of the Student Center at the main campus entrance. Additional parking spaces are also located in the north or south parking lots along with the joint UW-BC/WITC West lot. Visitors can park in the reserved parking spaces after 5:00 p.m. 

Student Parking

UW-Eau Claire – Barron County has ample parking for students and permits are not required. Student parking is available in non-reserved stalls within the North, South and UW-Eau Claire – Barron County/WITC West parking lots. Student parking is prohibited in areas posted for special purposes including, but not limited to, visitor and reserved stalls and behind the Theatre or Student Center. Violators are subject to a $20.00 fine and/or towing.

 Handicapped parking spaces are available in each parking lot. State law reads that no person may park, stop, or leave standing any vehicle, whether attended or unattended and whether temporarily or otherwise, upon any portion of a street, highway or public parking facility reserved for handicapped persons by official traffic signs, markers or parking meters indicating the restriction.
